How you’ll make an impact
Theis position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to support safe and efficient plant operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Hourly rate: $43.53 per hour, plus shift premium

Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment, wiring, and related components.
- Install, dismantle, examine, repair, recondition, and reinstall electrical systems such as motors, transformers, switchgear, communication systems, instrumentation, motor-generator sets, inverters, and electrical furnace systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related devices.
- Examine and repair high‑voltage electrical equipment as required to support continuous plant operation.
- Perform scheduled testing routines and preventative maintenance (PM) on required equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Make minor adjustments and lubricate tools and equipment as needed to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain an organized inventory of electrical supplies and equipment; request replenishment when necessary.
- Work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop orders, and verbal instructions.
- Assist in planning proposed electrical work and scheduled shutdowns in coordination with supervision.
- Report abnormal conditions, equipment issues, or repair needs to the supervisor and/or team lead promptly.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Perform 5S-related tasks to support workplace organization and efficiency.
- Lead by example and act as a supportive leader to the maintenance supervisor when required.
- Assist and mentor other electricians and apprentices to support skill development and team performance.
- Collaborate with maintenance team, operation and engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently and minimized production downtime
- Adhere strictly to all company and regulatory safety policies, including process interruptions, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Valid Industrial Electrician License (442A)
- Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario
- Operate and hold valid certifications for crane, forklift, aerial lift (EWP), confined space entry, high-voltage training, PLC/automation training, and working at heights training are an asset
- 3+ years of industrial electrician experience, preferably in a steel or heavy manufacturing environment
