How you’ll make an impact
The Assembly Operator is responsible for the precise assembly of small, medium and/or large flat-stacked transformer core assemblies using steel laminations. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, specification-compliant products. The operator will build, troubleshoot, and inspect transformer cores while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and maintain safety standards.

Hourly rate: $23.64 plus shift premium

How you’ll make an impact
The Assembly Operator is responsible for the precise assembly of small, medium and/or large flat-stacked transformer core assemblies using steel laminations. This role requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, specification-compliant products. The operator will build, troubleshoot, and inspect transformer cores while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals and maintain safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Assemble small, medium and/or large flat-stacked transformer cores using steel laminations according to work instructions, drawings, and/or blueprints to ensure conformance to customer specifications
- Accurately stack, align, and interleave steel sheets to form the transformer core structure
- Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Install core supports, clamps, and insulation materials as required
- Ensure correct orientation and stacking sequence of core laminations to meet electrical performance specifications
- Operate core stacking tables, lifting devices, hoists, or cranes to position heavy components safely
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections throughout the assembly process to maintain high quality standards
- Identify and report non-conformances or defects to the supervisor or quality department
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S and safety protocols
- Complete required production documentation and checklists accurately
- Collaborate with other team members, team leaders, shift managers, material handlers, engineering, quality control, and other departments as required
- Accountable for production start and stop times
- Review production schedule prior to beginning of each shift and ensure there is sufficient manpower to meet production requirements
- Make sure tools and materials are available and in proper condition to meet production requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED/CAEC) required
- Technical or vocational training preferred
- 5 – 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Prior experience operating machinery or equipment preferred
- Forklift and overhead crane certified
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics
- Familiarity with production equipment and safety standards
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Strong math, measurement skills (e.g., using calipers, micrometers, or rulers) and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organized and able to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite
